About Chloe - the Main Character

I love writing about brave and strong women! But I had a little problem with the main character of this series–Chloe Rosenbel. What was that problem?

Chloe is first introduced in a previous series in this same Faerie world, and in that series, she is anything BUT brave. In fact, she is so afraid of battles she passes out in the middle of one.

At the time, she was only a side character. I had no plans to write any more books with her, so this personality trait wasn't a problem.

But then I accidentally planned an entire series with her as the main character, as one does. 😅 And it was all perfect and wonderful, except for one thing...

I couldn't make her brave or physically strong, since that would be opposite of how I wrote her originally. Did this stop me from writing the new series? ME, who loves writing brave and strong female characters?

Of course not! I love nothing more than a challenge, so I went into this series bound and DETERMINED to make Chloe Rosenbel the coolest, cleverest, and sassiest character ever. Enough to make me (and readers) not care at all that she wasn't brave or physically strong.

Chloe has doubts about herself, and she overthinks things, but she is fierce in her own way. She is also gentle and timid, which makes a certain heroic fae warrior (who loves rescuing her) a perfect match for her. But make no mistake, this young woman can hold her own.
