Continuing immediately following the events in Book 2, we find Chloe and Quintus on their way to the golden castle in the new court. Hoping to find some useful information, Chloe searches for a library. She discovers the former king's journal detailing how he dismantled his crown to keep it safe. Curious, Chloe wants to search for the missing pieces. This quest will have to wait until they are able to heal Faerie. However, she is unsuccessful and is only able to keep magic from the new court.

Chloe has to make some hard decisions to try to save Crystalfall. We are left without a resolution by the end of the book….

Great fantasy story! It has a bit of everything. Romance, battles, fantasy, action. Overall a really great series that I have been really enjoying.

BLADE OF CRYSTAL THORNS takes place following SHADOW AND CRYSTAL THORNS. It continues to follow Chloe and Quintus after they discover a hidden court inside Faerie. The kingdom is in hibernation. They need to find the missing crown to reign over the new kingdom before the mortals do.

BLADE OF CRYSTAL THORNS is exciting from start to finish. There are many new discoveries and differences of opinions. The story is skillfully written and thought-provoking. Kay L. Moody has created an intriguing world. She does an amazing job painting a visual of the environment and characters. It does have a cliff hanger ending. I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

I do recommend reading the first two books prior to this novel. You might want to start with Chloe’s sister, Elora’s story, The Fae of Bitter Thorn series. Many of the same characters are in both series, and The Fae of Bitter Thorn series precedes the Fae and Crystal Thorns series. I recommend these books to people who enjoy Fae/fantasy romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Chloe & Quintus have embarked on an epic quest, but along that journey there will be mistakes, and heartache. Both will need to overcome and be willing to forgive, but will they be able to do that, and still save Crystalfall in time?

Blade and Crystal Thorns is another great addition to the series. The story is action-packed, and Chloe’s journey is full of high-stakes situations. Chloe, a human in the fae world, never stops fighting to save the land from corruption, and with the help of some valiant friends and a loyal love interest, she just might be able to do it. Tasked with finding a missing crown and learning all they can about a new, hidden court, Chloe and the rest of her group face dangerous and deadly obstacles, murderous and power-hungry villains, and their own personal dilemmas.

I’m really enjoying this series. It’s original and exciting, and I look forward to continuing it. This is the third book in the series, so I would suggest starting with book one, as this is not a standalone.
